Food
Included

Fishing Gear

$100-$300
depending on what
gear you personally need

Dick sets up the trip and provides the gear (Boats and equipment.) This includes food, baggage expenses, transportation to and from King Salmon to the lake – everything but your airfare from your home to King Salmon, and fishing license. Check out our section on Items to Bring during your Alaska Fly Fishing Adventure and the Flies section.
Air Transportation
$500-$850
Each person must pay for their airfare from their home, to King Salmon, and from King Salmon back home.  Expect that to be around $500 to $850 per person, depending upon where you start from.  Watch for specials.  Alaska Airlines just featured round trip to Anchorage from Seattle at $205.
Extra Weight
$100
Air Transportation to the lake from King Salmon is included in above, unless we can't get our weight down, then we may have to have one smaller plane fly some of our equipment in, and that could cost as much as $550. That will add about $100 per person.  That is why weight is so important. But we shouldn't have to do this if we all watch our weight.
Lodging in Anchorage
$85 - $150
I do not expect us to spend a night - going to or coming home - in Anchorage.  That costs about $85 to $150 for a hotel a night.  An expense I don't want us to incur, if we can help it. However, we can if everybody agrees to help pay the bill.
Fishing License
$50
Last but not least is your fishing license, approximately $50. To purchase your license Click Here
Extra Flies
$75
Start tying… If you really need special flies, see the section on Flies, and contact one of the three suppliers we list – all three are very good.
Personal Sleeping Gear
$250
You provide your own sleeping bag and pad – no down bags!!! You should have only two big waterproof bags (Max weight total – 75 lbs, a rod case, and a walk on bag. There should be no additional baggage charges if you only have the above. Do not check your walk on bag or rods – try to walk on with them.

Note:  You should have only two heavy canvas bags (50 lbs each), a rod case, and a walk on bag.  There should be no additional baggage charge if you only have the above.  Do not check your walk on bag or rods - try to walk on with them.
