Flies

So what does Dick recommend in the way of flies, and the approximate price? Again, Dick recommends an excellent book, Dan Heiner’s Alaska’s Wild Rivers. He has included a section from Alaska’s Wild Rivers which really describers how to fly fish Alaska, and has a section on recommended fly patterns, and how to fish them.

Joe's Custom Sculpin

In June, Sculpins are the primary food source for the large rainbow trout in the Alagnak river. Joe's Custom Sculpin has been the top producing fly for the last 3 years. You definately don't want to take this trip without a box full of these flies!

Joe's Silver Slayer

Joe's Silver Slayer was designed to attract silvers. The color combinations facilitates savaged strikes as the fly is stripped back to you. This fly outfished all other silver flies on previous silver expeditions.
